Tweedewereldoorlog.nl offers an overview of verified sources on World War II. To increase the awareness on some aspects of
this comprehensive subject,the site also features online exhibitions. This year’s exhibition ‘Behind the celebrations’
focuses on the (often forgotten downside of the liberation in a unique way. A parallax built completely out of archive material
enables visitors to discover stories on revenge, hunger, loss and trauma. Formerly non-revealed historical content of
this period in Dutch history was digitalized for this project.
